Since I was 11 years old, when my school decided to start hosting Sex-Ed classes. Lessons were dedicated to how my body would change. I was even taught how to properly use a pad. Like that wasn’t completely awkward…
Swiping your V-card is often considered to be a big deal. Normally, girls obsess over it. A good number might actually want to wait until marriage. It is commonly thought that your virginity is the best wedding gift you can give to your spouse. But is this really true? Or is it more along the lines of a myth?
I’ve discussed this topic with many people. Should I wait to have sex until I get married? Or should I be comfortable doing it with someone I love (and who loves me back)?
In the end, I’ve decided to choose the latter.
I truly do believe that one’s first time should have meaning. It shouldn’t be an experience to just “get it over with” and move on.
Sex is more than just a carnal act. It is a moment in which a couple joins together in the closest way humanly possible. It is an opportunity to explore one another’s bodies and learn how to make your partner feel really, really good. Being with someone you love only makes sex even more enjoyable. If you both know that you love one another, it is perfectly fine to have sex. There is no need to wait until you are 27 (or older) and getting married.
You might not end up marrying the person whom you gave your virginity to. But at least you can choose to lose it to someone who truly means something to you.
